Whispered Secrets

One of the sweetest times between a small child and a mother is when they pull on our skirt and want us to hunker down to hear their secrets. Often I didn't truely understand what they said, but their joy was so infectious it left me uplifted as I resumed my tasks.

"The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him."

Psalm 25:14

Real life is filled with ups and downs. Outwardly some of the things you and I will go through are pretty rough...even heartbreaking. Faith though has us look a bit deeper and says, "This is God's secret." You look only at the outward, but I can look into your heart and show you the deeper meaning."

There are a lot of things in my life that look rough on the outside, but are beautiful on the inside. I've been pre-sprouting my dahila bulbs so by the time my perrenials are up I'll know where there is room to plant them in my cottage garden. Dahlia bulbs look like a shriveled sweet potato that got missed in my pantry all winter...NOT beautiful at all; more ready for the compost pile. Given a few months though in the right conditions they'll be heavy with blooms when most other flowers are almost spent. Deep within where I can't see it is the beauty God has designed.

I've read about the building of the tabernacle in the Old Testament. God's design had them covering His house with badger skins. I'm sure that was weather resistant but not beautiful. Inside though were the costly treasures of the gold and precious stones.

God may be sending you some costly circumstances right now. Outwardly they are rough, even heart breaking. Inwardly though you can be assured they are filled with love, kindness, and hidden wisdom for you to claim....IF you in faith take what He sends, and TRUST HIM for the goodness in it. In these dark times you can learn the "secrets" of God. Don't push His hand away...it's the Potter's hand pressing as He moulds. His secrets only come to those who endure. He's not only shaping you into a vessel He can use, but He's whispering His secrets of strength and wisdom.

"Not until each loom is silent,

And the shuttles cease to fly,

Will God unroll the pattern

And explain the reason why

The dark threads are as needful

In the Weaver's skillful hand,

As the threads of gold and silver

For the pattern which He has planned."

Abundant Blessings,

The Farmer's Wife,
